Fred Thomas Burnett

April 17, 1927 — January 24, 2020

Fred T. Burnett passed away on January 24, 2020 at Denver Hospice. Born on April 17, 1927 in Sharon Springs, Kansas, he was the son of Rena and Raymond Burnett.
While he was enlisted in the United States Army during the 1940’s Fred lived in New Jersey, and he took advantage of his proximity to nearby New York City. During his visits to New York, Fred had the opportunity to experience many live music events, and grew to love jazz. Fred met and married Agnes Marie Diessner in the 1950's. They had two daughters, and over 60 years together. Fred worked as a home builder in Colorado, where he and Agnes raised their family. He built many homes in the Green Mountain and Aurora communities. Fred also deeply enjoyed visits to Las Vegas, Nevada, where he introduced his family to live shows like those he had grown to appreciate in New York. Fred saw many of the “greats” in Las Vegas, including Frank Sinatra, Sammy Davis Jr., Liza Minelli, Liberace and so many more. He also braved crowds of adoring fans to take his daughters to see Elvis Presley and made arrangements for them to sing with Diana Ross.
Fred is survived by daughter Lisa Philpott, daughter Loretta Burnett, and 5 grandchildren. Fred was preceded in death by his parents and wife Agnes Marie Burnett. Fred and Agnes will be interred together at Fort Logan National Cemetery. Services will take place at 1:00 P.M. on Monday, May 11, 2020 at Fort Logan National Cemetery, Staging Area A.
