Fred Jolliff, 67 passed away from cancer on Thursday September 3rd at the Denver Hospice Inpatient Care Center, with his wife and daughter at his side.
Fred was born to Clarence and Alice (Kramer) Jolliff on June 24th, 1953 in Fort Collins, CO. He graduated from Poudre High School in 1972. Fred worked as a welder for Forney Industries, Goodall Electric, and Waste Management. He married Roxy (Schweers) Jolliff on April 19th, 1990. Fred and Roxy moved from the Fort Collins/Loveland area to Thornton, Colorado in 1999.
Fred was a loving husband, father, and grandfather. He was an avid outdoorsman and loved hunting, fishing, and camping in the Colorado mountains. He also loved woodworking in his shop.
His wife will always remember how he would bring her flowers just because. Fred’s daughter has many great memories, one of her favorites is a fishing trip where he helped her reel in a 36” Northern Pike. His grandchildren’s fondest memory is a Father’s Day camping trip, where he made “animal tracks” out of a soda bottle for them. His son in law will always remember the many fishing trips they took and the “hard time” they gave each other.
Fred is survived by his wife, Roxy Jolliff of Thornton, CO. His daughters, Bonnie (Steve) Thomas of Fort Collins, CO. and Karen (Pat) Zelenak of Puyallup, WA., his grandchildren, Shelton (16), Cash (14), and Taylor (10) Thomas all of Fort Collins and Taryn Robinson (25) of Kansas City, MO. as well as one great grandchild James Hytrek of Kansas City, MO.
Fred was preceded in death by his parents Clarence and Alice Jolliff, his brother Ben Jolliff, and his son Andrew Jolliff.
A memorial service will be planned and announced at a later date.
