Frederick Trzos, Lt. Col., US Army, Ret., died on February 5, 2014. He is survived by his wife of 53 years, Sandra; and his daughters, Suzanne, Sharon and Melissa. Proud grandfather to Courtney, Tyler, Elias and Tanner. Visitation, Wednesday, 10-11am; Vigil Service, 11am, both at Horan & McConaty Family Chapel, 3101 S. Wadsworth Blvd. Private interment at Ft. Frederick Trzos Biography Frederick Trzos, Lt. Col. US Army, Ret. March 29, 1937 â February 5, 2014 He was the son of John and Catherine (nee Zola) Trzos and was born and raised in the Chicago area. An active member of the Roman Catholic Church, he attended Catholic elementary and high schools (Fenwick HS). He shot competitively on several rifle teams up thru college and was a member of college ROTC. He attended the University of Dayton (UD), where he met and married Sandra (nee Carlile) in September 1960. In June of 1961, he and Sandy graduated from UD and he was commissioned into the US Army as a 2nd Lieutenant. Education BS Geology â University of Dayton MA Business Administration â Webster College Military Career (1961 â 1982) Infantry Officer (including several years as a Green Beret) Several overseas assignments including 2 tours in Vietnam Command and General Staff College Graduate and then Instructor Procurement and Quartermaster Corps. Contracting Officer Lockheed Martin Career (1982 â 1999) Various Management positions in Materiel, Contracts, and Subcontracts Departments Hobbies/Interests Cairn Terriers (since 1976) Camping (RV) Cairn Terrier Club of Denver (CTCD) â Member and held various officer positions Aspen Leaves Chapter of Good Sams â Member and held various officer positions Rocky Mountain Earthdog Club (RMEC) â Member Rocky Mountain All Terrier Club â Member Loved his family, his dogs, his country, computers, photography, political discussions, and college basketball.
