Frederick James Feaster

Frederick James Feaster of Littleton, CO, passed away on the evening of December 27, 2013. Fred was diagnosed with pancreatic cancer in the summer of 2013. After an incredibly courageous battle, Fred passed away at Swedish Hospital in Denver. He was 61 years old. Fred was born on March 10, 1952 at St. Mary's hospital in Clarksburg, WV. His parents are James High Feaster of Shinnston, WV and Anne Dutcher Feaster. Frederick lived his youth with his parents in Shinnston, WV. He attended Shinnston Grade School and graduated from Shinnston High School in 1970. Fred completed his studies at West Virginia University in 1979. He obtained a Bachelor of Science in Psychology and a Master of Science in Petroleum Engineering, and will forever be a Mountaineer. Fred married Cathy Ann Crayton of Gypsy, WV in May of 1979. Fred and Cathy have two children: Christopher James Feaster of Lakewood, CO and Rebecca Leigh Feaster of Denver, CO. Fred began his career in 1979 as a petroleum engineer serving the Amoco Company in Brownfield and Sugarland, TX. He completed his career as an engineer serving Venoco, Inc. in Denver, CO. Fred is survived by his father James, his wife Cathy, his son Christopher and his daughter Rebecca. He is also survived by his two brothers Dr. Stephen James Feaster of Huntington, WV, Daniel James Feaster of Travelers Rest, SC and his sister Sally Feaster Bishop of Huntersville, NC. Fred was preceded in death by his mother, Anne and his brother, Douglas James Feaster. A memorial Mass for the soul of Frederick James Feaster will be served in his hometown parish church, St. Ann Catholic Church, 610 Pike Street, Shinnston, WV at 11:00 AM on Saturday, January 4, 2014. On Saturday, January 11 at 10:00 AM a memorial service will also be held in Colorado at Horan & McConaty, 3101 S. Wadsworth Blvd., Lakewood. A reception gathering will follow both services. The family requests that in lieu of flowers a donation be made to The Jimmy V Foundation for Cancer Research at www.JimmyV.org or 1-800-4JimmyV. ""Don't Give Up…Don't Ever Give Up.""
