Frederick Jepthia Hughes II

Frederick Jepthia Hughes II, a beloved Denver native and third-generation Coloradan, passed away peacefully on March 19th, 2024, in Littleton, CO, surrounded by his loving family. He was born on June 2nd, 1940, in Denver, CO.

Fred, as he was affectionately known, was a proud member of the Highlander Boys Club during his youth and attended East High School. In 1957, he answered the call to serve his country and joined the Navy, where he dedicated himself to duty and honor.
Following his military service, Fred embarked on a successful career path, initially working at Martin Marietta & Olivetti Corporation before co-founding Kimbrough Computer Sales in 1978 with three partners. His entrepreneurial spirit and dedication led to a thriving business, and he retired in the early 1990s, leaving behind a legacy of hard work and integrity.

Beyond his professional achievements, Fred found immense joy in the simple pleasures of life. He was an avid outdoorsman who cherished moments spent skiing, biking, and golfing. His passion for outdoor model trains brought him endless hours of delight, and he shared his enthusiasm with all who knew him.

Traveling the world with his beloved wife, Jerrie, was among Fred's greatest joys. Together, they explored distant lands, creating cherished memories that will forever live on in the hearts of those he leaves behind.

Fred will be deeply missed by his devoted wife, Jerrie Hughes; his brothers, Jay Hughes and John Hughes; his daughter, Heidi Lowe; his son, Frederick Hughes III; his stepson, Shannon Fuller; and his adoring grandchildren, Jaquita Hughes, Troy Lowe, Dawn Lowe, Jacquita Jolie Macy, Jacob Fuller, and Lexi Wilk.

In honoring Fred's memory, let us celebrate a life well-lived, filled with love, laughter, and a profound appreciation for the beauty of the world around him. Though he may no longer walk beside us, his spirit will forever guide and inspire those who were fortunate enough to have known him. May he rest in eternal peace.
