Frederick A. Thornton, from Aurora, CO, passed away Monday, April 27, 2009. He was 84 years old. He will be greatly missed by his beloved wife of 63 years, Evelyn, and their children, Stephen, Mary and Carol; his brother Stan; as well as his grandchildren, great-grandchildren and extended family members and friends. Fred was born in Leigh, NE, on May 24, 1924 and grew up in Grand Island, NE where he met and married Evelyn. He attended the University of Colorado, was a member of the Sigma Chi Fraternity, and received degrees in Electrical Engineering and Business in 1948. Before retiring, Fred worked as a Senior Project Manager at Stearns-Roger in Denver, CO. He was interested in genealogy and was a past Governor of The Society of Mayflower Descendants in the State of Colorado. A Memorial Service will be held at the Heather Gardens Auditorium/Chapel, 2888 S.
