Fritz K. Johnson passed away peacefully on Wednesday, March 15 at the age of 94 in Littleton, Colorado.
Fritz is survived by his wife, Shirley Johnson, who brought him great joy in his later years. In addition he is survived by his family from his first marriage: Lynda Meyer (David Meyer); Denise Moore (Jesse Moore); and Cynthia Peterson (Rich Peterson); 9 grandchildren, 7 great grandchildren and sister-in-law Judy A. Parnell (Doug Parnell).
Fritz was born December 15, 1928 in Durham, North Carolina and never lost his pride in being a “Tar Heel”. Fritz graduated from the University of North Carolina and had a fulfilling career as an petroleum geologist, living in Oklahoma, Texas and Colorado where he raised his 3 daughters with his wife Diana A. Johnson. Fritz was a man of faith who loved the Lord, his family, his church and his community. He will be remembered for his warm smile, his hearty laugh, his kind and generous nature and his ability to tell great stories.
Fritz was preceded in death by his first wife, Diana Addison Johnson (d. 2012); 9 brothers and sisters and his parents Estelle and Herbert Johnson.
A committal service will be held on Friday, April 7 at 11:15 am at Fort Logan (Staging Area C) followed by a Celebration of Life from 1:00 to 3:00pm at the Ken Caryl Ranch House, 7676 S. Continental Divide, Littleton, CO 80127.
