Gabriel Isaac Martin Frihauf went home to be with the Lord September 7, 2023, after a courageous fight with Congenital Heart Disease. Gabriel was born to parents Nathan and Shelly on July 21, 2023, their first child. Gabriel was sweet, curious, and brave. His favorite things were napping in his Mommy’s arms while she sang You Are My Sunshine and holding his Daddy’s hands. From day one, he captivated every heart that came into the vicinity of his. Every nurse was smitten with Gabriel; Nathan and Shelly were often told that they had never encountered as sweet a baby as Gabriel. Daddy’s favorite memories of Gabriel include saying goodbye to him in the morning before work and reuniting with him after the workday; these father-son moments were a special time for both Daddy and Gabriel. Mommy’s favorite memories of Gabriel include holding him and singing to him; Gabriel would melt into her arms and drift off to sleep while raising his eyebrows. He was destined to be a huge personality, even though his time on earth was cut tragically short.
Gabriel is survived by his loving parents, Shelly and Nathan, and his grandparents Brenda and Eric Riblett, and Daniel and Shelley Frihauf, as well as aunt Sarah (Andrew) Allman, uncle Cody Riblett, aunt Shannon (Chris) Riblett, aunt Lauren Frihauf and uncle Losha Frihauf, and cousins Naomi, Landen, and Addalynn Allman, and Camden and Grayson Riblett. Gabriel is also survived by his great-grandmothers Mary Sue Riblett, Garnet Ackerman, and Pat Frihauf.
Gabriel is preceded in death by his aunt Amy Beth Riblett, great-uncle Darrel Riblett, and great-grandfathers Jerry Riblett, Duane Ackerman, and Jack Frihauf.
