Galen Ray Couch

Aurora, Colorado - Galen Ray Couch, 54, passed away on May 24 at Aurora Medical Center South, after a short illness, compounded by other health issues. Galen was born on March 20, 1954, in Gardena, CA and grew up in Colorado Springs, Colorado, where he graduated from Harrison High School in 1972, and also met and married his wife, Debra Quesenberry Couch on July 8, 1978. Galen attended Adams State College where he played football in 1972, before enlisting in the United States Marine Corp. and serving at Camp Pendleton during the Vietnam War. Galen never met a stranger, loved people, and people loved him back. He was a master barbeque chef, and his family and friends were the recipients of his wonderful creations. He loved all types of sports and music and frequently quizzed his friends and family on all of the statistics. Galen will always be loved and missed. Galen worked for Continental Airlines for 23 years, and most recently worked for the Aurora School District. Galen is survived by his two beloved children, Michael Couch and Andrea Couch of Aurora, CO; his mother Doris Weber and her husband, Jess of Aguilar, CO; brothers Jay Couch of Arvada, CO, and Mark Couch of Garden City, KS; and sister Jan Schumaker of Dewitt, IA, and numerous nieces and nephews. Galen was preceded in death by his wife, Debra Quesenberry Couch, and his father, Leonard Couch. A Funeral Service will be celebrated Thursday, May 29 at 10:00 am, at Horan & McConaty Funeral Home, 11150 E. Dartmouth Ave., Aurora, CO. Internment will be at a private ceremony at Evergreen Cemetery in Colorado Springs.
