Garry Thomas Williams went to be with our Lord on October 25, 2024. He was so concerned he would not be able to celebrate his 78th birthday on October 22, 2024, but he fought hard and did indeed make it to October 25, 2024. Garry was born on October 22, 1946, to Thomas and Wanda Williams in Denver, Colorado, who both predecease him. 

 Garry is survived by his loving wife, whom he called his “Best Friend, Forever,” Louise, his son Jason Williams and his loving stepson, Sean Holman (Jeri Holman, who call Garry her “Pops”), along with grandchildren, Christopher, Andrew, and Kaela Holman. He is also survived by his sister, Cheryl Johnson and brother-in-law Greg Johnson.

 Garry served in the United States Navy from October 25, 1965, to November 1, 1969. He became a Jet Engine Mechanic while in the service. He survived the USS Forrestal Disaster on July 19, 1967, and helped the firefighters save many lives. He also received the Presidential Unit Citation for exceptionally meritorious service from December 23, 1967, to June 1, 1968, while participating in combat operations in Southeast Asia in support of the USS Kitty Hawk and embarked Attack Carrier Air Wing Eleven, launched numerous major strikes on significant military targets in North Vietnam and succeeded in inflicting extensive damage and destruction to sites and installations vital to the enemy’s operations contributing substantially to the United States combat air efforts in Southeast Asia. 

 Garry has always gone above and beyond any time needed by whomever he assisted throughout his entire life. Garry Williams is one in a million and will be greatly forever and ever missed.

A Committal service at Fort Logan National Cemetery will be held Wednesday, November 13, 2024 at 11:30am. Meet at Staging Area B.
