Gary H. Bates

Gary H. Bates, 76, passed away on January 16, 2025, after a courageous battle with dementia and Alzheimer’s disease. He was born on March 13, 1948, in Mukwonago, Wisconsin, to Herbert and Joyce Bates.

After completing high school, Gary enlisted in the U.S. Air Force, dedicating over 20 years of service to his country. Following his military retirement, Gary worked for various companies, eventually retiring from East Cherry Creek Valley Water. In his later years, he devoted himself to his family, cherishing time spent with his children and grandchildren, as well as his beloved dogs.

Gary is survived by his four children: daughter Jessica and sons Jason, Wade, and Andrew. He leaves behind his longtime spouse and dear friend, Bonnie, along with three granddaughters, Rylie, Harper, and Charliegh, and one grandson, Emerson. He is also survived by his son-in-law, Gavin.

Memorial services will be held on January 24, 2025, at 12:00 PM at Horan & McConaty Funeral Home, located at 5303 E. County Line Road, Centennial, CO 80122. Private burial services will take place on January 27, 2025, at Fort Logan National Cemetery in Denver, CO. 

Gary will be remembered for his dedication to family, his service to his country, and the love he shared with those around him.
