Gary C. Lewis

Gary went to be with his Lord and Savior on August 29, 2010. Gary resided in Northglenn, Colorado for the past 16 years, moving from Springfield, Ohio where he raised his son, Gary and daughter, Sheri. He was born August 8, 1941 in Manchester, Ohio and later married Karen (Butcher) Lewis on January 31, 1963. He retired from Navistar International after 31 years of service and was a dedicated member of UAW #402 and K of P #610. Gary loved to travel with his family across the United States. He was proud to have visited all 50 states and especially loved the mountains of Colorado and Utah. He enjoyed Caribbean cruises, hiking in Colorado and trips to Las Vegas. He also loved softball, golfing, bowling, and camping/boating. His true love though was his extremely close family, including his grandchildren, Kyle and Becky. Gary is survived by his wife, Karen; son Gary A. Lewis (Westminster, CO), and daughter Sheri Lewis (Thornton, CO); daughter-in-law Lori Lewis; grandchildren, Kyle Lewis and Becky Lewis; sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law, cousins, several nieces, nephews and many special friends. Gary is preceded in death by his mother (Inda Vaughn), step-father (Albert Vaughn), Robert and Lou Emma Butcher, aunts, uncles and cousins. The viewing will be held on Wednesday, September 1, 2010, 4:00 - 8:00 pm, at Horan & McConaty, 9998 Grant Street, Thornton, Colorado 80229. The memorial service will be on Thursday, September 2, 2010 at 10:00 am. with Rev. Michael Chamness officiating.
