Gavin Alexander Hodges

Gavin Alexander Hodges, 27 years old, passed away on Sunday, April 12^th, 2020.

Born May 5^th, 1992 in Aurora, Colorado, Gavin was a proud Colorado native living in the state his entire life and working with his family in the family business. Gavin was a generous and gentle-soul and passionate animal lover. He shared a home in Greenwood Village with his mom, Marsha. Gav and his dog, Rex, were inseparable. Their bond was obvious and heart-warming to see. For those that knew Gav, many remember his quick wit, sly smirk, infectious sense of humor and laugh, and his kind demeanor.

Gavin was an avid firearm enthusiast and he enjoyed taking gun safety and training courses at the shooting range. He was very talented at target shooting and he enjoyed constantly learning about firearms. He never hunted because he couldn't stand the idea of hurting animals.

Every summer, Gavin traveled to the family lake house near the Upper Peninsula of Michigan adding to another generation of the family who have enjoyed the Northwoods. Prior to his grandfather's passing, Gavin had a very close relationship with his Grandpa, Dr. Ralph Carlson. He also had many friends at the lake with whom he had lifelong memories.

Gav also enjoyed many laughter-filled days at the Oregon Coast with his aunts, uncles, and cousins. Gav had a special bond with his Uncle Mike and always looked forward to their time spent together at the Surf Pines beach house.

Gavin is survived by his mom, Marsha Hodges of Denver; his dad, Ted Hodges of Denver; and his brother, Teddy Hodges of Phoenix. They cherish every moment they shared with Gavin and will hold the beauty and purity of his soul forever close to their own.

Due to the current pandemic, a private service will be held Saturday, April 18^th, 2020. Once circumstances allow, the family plans to have a Celebration of Gavin's Life.

Memorial contributions to the Denver Animal Shelter or The Colorado Humane Society in Gavin's memory are welcome and appreciated.
