Gene Carroll Snow, aged 89, passed away at Sky Ridge Medical Center in Lone Tree Colorado on December 1 2023, after a serious fall at home. Gene was born August 12, 1934 in Hardy Arkansas to Arthur Collins Snow and Ethel Margaret Utley Snow. He was a graduate of Assumption College High School in Windsor, Ontario, and earned a business degree at the University of Arizona, Tucson. He married Helen Louise Mitchell in 1956, and had two sons, Kevin Mitchell Snow (b. October 13, 1959; Tucson AZ) and Shawn Colin Snow (b. Jan 26, 1962; Burlingame CA).
Gene served during the Korean War as a sergeant in the Marine Corps, and was stationed in Osaka Japan. He was with Del Monte Corporation for 30 years and worked in various finance and accounting roles in San Francisco, Cape Town, London, Hong Kong and Winston-Salem, and retired early from RJR Nabisco as Director of Treasury Operations. Gene moved to Castle Rock CO to live with his son Kevin after his wife Helen died in 2012.
Gene was an active member of a number of Castle Rock community organizations including the New Hope Presbyterian Church, the church choir, ‘Old Guys Drinking Coffee’, Bocce Ball and Silver Sneakers, and was a member of DCF Guns in Castle Rock. He also loved to play the lottery and slot machines at Blackhawk and Las Vegas.
Gene is survived by his son Kevin, daughters-in-law Martha Williams Snow and Roberta Peters Snow, and grandchildren Ian Snow, Bronwyn Ebner (Snow), Mary Martinez (Snow), and Courtney Partsch (Snow), and three great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife Helen, and son Shawn.
A memorial service will be held at the New Hope Presbyterian Church, 3737 New Hope Way, Castle Rock CO 80109 at 11am, Saturday December 30 followed by a reception and simple lunch at the church.
