Genelle Max

1929 — January 1, 2020

Lakewood, Colorado

Genelle Max passed away on August 28, 2020. She was born on October 17, 1929 in Sioux City, Iowa to Gladys and Dean Evans.

She is preceded in death by her husband of 63 years, Manford Max, and two of her children, Eric Max and Kristi Leford.

Genelle had her hands full raising 7 children who were always rowdy but lived in a house full of love that she provided to us.

While raising her 7 children she worked hand in hand with her husband and built and ran a successful electronics business until they both retired.

She was never one to relax into her retirement, so she began to volunteer with Hope Ministries and to answer phones at the Jeffco Action Center for many years until her age started to catch up to her.

While she was passionate about her service to others, she always said being a Mom was her greatest joy, and we were so incredibly blessed to have her show us how to live with integrity and a grateful heart.

Profoundly affecting her family was her love for Jesus. Everything that Genelle did, she did with him being her guiding principal. Through the loss of her children and some brutal health challenges she never once lost sight of that love for her God. We know she is a beloved child of God with whom he is well pleased and he has welcomed her home with open arms. She lived her faith as the oldest living charter member of Lutheran Church of the Master.

To everyone who knew and loved Genelle, please know that she loved and cared so much for all of you and she felt blessed to be surrounded by that love.

Genelle is survived by her 5 remaining children: Deb Chamberlain, Doug Max, John Max, Scott Max and Lisa Max and many grandchildren and great grandchildren.
