George Thomas Ashen was born in Gevres, France on March 7, 1922 to Claude Ellsworth Ashen and Marie Antionette Pradier Ashen. His family moved to America in 1927 where George lived the remainder of his life. He was educated at the Redemptorist St. Joseph elementary and high school, Regis College and St. Louis University School of Law. He served in the U.S. Army Air Corps as a bombardier navigator (and sometimes pilot), based in London during WWII where he served with distinction and pride. After the war he returned to Denver to begin his practice as a distinguished trial lawyer for fifty-five years. He was an active and now emeritus member of the American Board of Trial Lawyers (ABOTA). But, his greatest love and pride was in his family: his wife of 54 years, Dolores, his lovely and successful daughters, Paula, Gabrielle, Dominique, Cecile, and Michelle, and their respective spouses and his only sons, Jerry Cardwell, Douglas Loup and Thomas Young. The joys of his life were his beloved grandchildren, Katie Ashen Elmer, Jordan and Tessa Cardwell, Anna and Julia Loup, and Rijan and Zachary Young. Not to be forgotten, are his loved and loving Golden Retrievers. Funeral Mass at the Roman Catholic Church of The Risen Christ, 3060 S.
