George Thomas Bruno (85) died in his home on August 21, 2021. George was born March 21, 1936, in Denver, Colorado. He was a graduate of Holy Family High School (class of 1954) and Regis College (class of 1964). George was drafted into the Army in 1959 and served two years. He worked in telecommunications with Mountain Bell, retiring from US West as Vice President of Marketing.
On May 30, 1962, he married Rosemary Carbone, and they remained married for more than 59 years. George was a sports fanatic. He loved the New York Yankees, Denver Broncos, Colorado Rockies, and anything having to do with the University of Notre Dame. He was a talented ball player as well, playing softball until he was 80. George was a devout Catholic. In his later years, he completed six years of schooling and taught bible study at Immaculate Heart of Mary. He was a world traveler including China, Ireland, England, Scotland, France, Spain, Portugal, Israel, Australia, and of course, Italy.
George is survived by his wife, Rosemary (80), sons Pat (58) (Tracy), Tony (56) (Sally), Andy (54), and Chris (52); 10 grandchildren and 3 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, George R. Bruno and Berniece Bruno, and his brother, Ron Bruno.
Services will be Tuesday, August 31, 2021, at Immaculate Heart of Mary Church 11385 Grant Drive Northglenn, CO 80233. Rosary at 10:30am, Mass at 11:00, followed by a reception at the Immaculate Heart Parish Center. Burial is private.
