George Joseph Cerrone Junior, age 81, passed away February 3, 2022. George was born on November 7, 1940 in Denver, Colorado to Mary (Nardillo) Cerrone and George Joseph Cerrone Senior. He grew up with three sisters: Concetta Knowles, Nicoletta Barone (deceased), and Roseanne DeSiato.
George attended Regis Jesuit High School. He graduated from the University of Colorado at Boulder and Georgetown Law School. He served 20 years in the active and reserve Navy as an officer and retired as a Commander and JAG officer.
George was a City Attorney for the City and County of Denver for 30 years and retired as the Deputy City Attorney in 1999. In 1981, George presented oral arguments about the 1980 census before the United States Supreme Court.
George is survived by his wife of 55 years Martha Helen (Clark) Cerrone. George and Martha had 2 children, 8 grandchildren, and 2 great grandchildren. His son Michael Cerrone with wife Kimberly have 4 children (Scott, Sarah, Kindra, and Sean) and 2 grandchildren (Preslee and Peyton). His daughter Andrea Kerl has 4 children (Kaitlin, Michael, Madison, and Megan).
His burial ceremony will be Monday, February 28, 2022 at 10:15 am, area C, Fort Logan National Cemetery.
