George Lincoln Dumas
November 30, 1936 - May 5, 2021
George Lincoln Dumas was born November 30, 1936 in Europa, MS. He departed this life for his eternal resting place on May 5, 2021 at Holly Heights Nursing Center in Denver, CO. He was one of three children to his parents Lillian Draine and George Lincoln, Sr.
At an early age, George, along with his parents and siblings, moved to East St. Louis, IL. He attended Elementary, Middle and High School there. After graduating from Lincoln High School, he and his identical twin brother, George Curtis, went to Central State College, which is now Central State University. While at Central State College, he pledged his beloved Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity, Inc. In 1959, George graduated from college with a B.A. Degree in Business Administration. He soon joined the United States Army for three years.
On July 10, 1960, he married his college sweetheart, Judy Holland, at Grant Memorial A.M.E. Church in Chicago, IL. They later had two daughters, Tracey and Monica.
After living in St. Louis for many years, George had the opportunity to be transferred with Xerox Corporation to Denver in 1974.
At age 63, George received his MBA from the University of Denver in 2002. He was so proud of this accomplishment and so was his family.
He so loved the game of golf and was a collector of very rare books and large record albums. Since he was an avid reader, he was quite knowledgeable on many subjects.
George was on the Metro Wastewater Reclamation District Board of Directors for 12 years, a member of the Aurora Business Advisory Board and a Broker Associate with Keller Williams Realty, LLC.
He was pre-deceased by his parents, identical twin brother Lieutenant Colonel George Curtis, and his brother James.
He is survived by his devoted wife of 60 years, Judy; daughters, Monica Hilton (Michael) and Tracey Jenkins (Brian); grandson, Evan Jenkins; sister, Barbara Thomas; a host of nieces and nephews and great-nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation in George's memory to the Parkinson's Association of the Rockies.
"Those we love don't go away, they walk beside us everyday. Unseen, unheard, but always near. Still loved, still missed and forever dear."
