George ""Spencer"" Harrison

Spencer Harrison Of Aurora, CO, passed on Nov 19, 2017. Born in Beech Grove, IN on May 22, 1938, son of the late George and Alice (Arfsten) Harrison. Spencer's family moved to Colorado when he was a young boy and lived in Limon, CO, before coming to Denver. During his teen years he developed an interest in speedy cars and drag racing. Spencer worked in greenhouses growing commercial roses until becoming a firefighter at Buckley Air Base in 1966. He retired in 1993. He then worked part time at the Plains Conservation Center. He later became the childcare for his grandson which gave him an opportunity to volunteer in the classroom and to go on all the field trips. Spencer was also a 50 year member of the Grange. Spencer is survived by his wife Judy J. (Johnston) Harrison, his daughter Angela M. Harrison, son Ray S. Harrison and grandson Levent Hawkeye Hanson. Spencer was preceded in death by his parents, his brother Orvy d. Harrison,and a nephew Steven Harrison. A memorial service will be held Saturday, December 30,2017 at Highpoint Church, 6450 Southlands Pkwy, Aurora, CO. Memorial donations may be made in Spencer's name to the Highpoint Church Homeless Outreach. Please offer the family condolences by signing the guestbook below.
