George J. Konrad

George J. Konrad, who passed away on April 23, 2011, will be remembered by all who loved his generous heart and strong work ethic. He was born in Sterling, Colorado on November 14, 1921. He is preceded in death by his parents Margarite and John Konrad and siblings Susan Cutter, Adam, John, Pete, and Joe Konrad. He is survived by his wife, M. Beverly (Kissell), who he married on May 3, 1947; his children Marsha Hall, Kerry Hopfner, Pam (Rick) Nelson, Greg Konrad, Lynn (Dan) Malloy, and Robert Konrad; eight grandchildren and one greatgrandson. He is also survived by siblings Mary Mari, Eleanor Kishpaugh, and Jim (Shirley) Konrad; numerous nieces and nephews. George worked on his family's farm growing up, proudly served his country in WWII, went on to own and run a successful auto dealership and served as the CIADA executive director. He was a sports enthusiast and avid golfer. Visitation 5:00 PM Thursday, April 28, followed by a Rosary at 6:00 PM, Horan & McConaty, 1091 South Colorado Boulevard. Mass of Christian Burial 9:00 AM Friday, April 29, Blessed Sacrament Church, 4900 Montview Boulevard, with military honors at Ft. Logan National Cemetery. Contributions can be made to the Dominican Sisters Home Health Agency.
