George Malinick

George Malinick 12/29/1919 - 11/24/2015 George Malinick, 96, of Centennial, Colorado passed away peacefully in his home on Tuesday, November 24, 2015. George was born in Conemaugh, Pennsylvania in 1919. He married at 23. That 34 year marriage ended in 1976. Five years later George married again with that marriage lasting 25 years, ending when his wife died in 2006. He had no children. The most enjoyable times of his life were the eight years he spend in New York City where he was taken in by all the lights and sounds of the city. After serving in the Philippines in the U.S. Navy Air Corps during World War II, he moved to Denver where he was a purchasing agent in the aerospace industry at Martin Marietta for 35 years. He made the most of his 96 years, seemingly being able to do anything at a high skill level. He operated a crane in a Pittsburg steel mill, painted many scenes in oils and water colors, designed and sewed clothing, made furniture, and created extraordinary jewelry. He enjoyed gourmet cooking books. He enjoyed fishing and tied his own flies. After retiring in 2002, he bought a large motor home and traveled across the country with his wife Helen and dog. George Malinick has a significant and amazing legacy and will always be remembered fondly by friends, family and all those whose hearts and lives he touched. He had an enormous faith that always came first in his life. A Recitation of the Rosary will be held at 9:30 am and Funeral Mass at 10 AM all on Thursday, December 10 th at Horan & McConaty Family Chapel, 5303 East County Line Road in Centennial. Burial will also be held on Thursday, December 10 th at 1:30 PM Staging Area ""B"" at Ft. Logan National Cemetery. Donations may be made to All Souls Catholic Church, 4950 South Logan Street, Englewood, CO.
