George V. Mazzotti, Sr.

George, 95, passed away peacefully on June 29, 2018, with his family at his side. A life-long resident of Welby, CO, he attended school, started his family, ran the family farming business, and helped shape the community, as one of the original founders of the North Washington Fire Department, retiring as Chief in 1996. After retirement, George continued to serve as an advisor/mentor and was a member of various organizations across the metro area and state. George is preceded in death by his wife, of 68 years, Ruth (Shaball) Mazzotti; infant son, Marc Mazzotti; parents, Joseph & Theresa Mazzotti; and siblings, Frank, Fred, Concetta & Joe. Survived by his children, George Mazzotti, Jr. and Cathy (Rick) Martinelli; granddaughter, Gina (Daniel) Martinez; sisters-in-law, Wilma Shaball & Norma Shaball; and numerous nieces & nephews. Visitation, Thursday, July 5, 2018, 5-7 PM; Rosary, 7 PM; Funeral Mass, Friday, July 6, 2018, 10:30 AM, all at Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary Catholic Church, 2361 East 78th Ave., Welby, Colorado.
