George C. Olsen

Olsen, George C. George C. Olsen, 69, of Aurora, passed away on July 20, 2004 from complications associated with open-heart surgery. He enjoyed a full life as a loving husband, father and grandfather. He was born in Soda Springs, Idaho on November 26, 1934 to John Alexander and Ethel Marie Christensen Olsen. He married Jolene Rasmussen on October 8, 1958 in the Logan Utah L.D.S. Temple. He moved to Aurora, CO in 1971 with his wife and three children, Robyn, Randy and Troy. He was employed as a sheet metal specialist with Coors Construction in Golden, CO for 25 years. After he retired, he enjoyed traveling with his wife in the motor home and taking family vacations with his children and their families. He was a faithful member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and enjoyed serving in and attending the Temple. He also served a two-year mission as a welfare missionary. George is survived by his loving and devoted wife of 45 years, Jolene; daughter Robyn and her husband Daniel Tingey; son Randy and his wife Nancy; son Troy and his wife Janie; as well as nine grandchildren, Elena, Diana, Jessica, Andreina, Anthony, Alexandria, Lena, Julia and Tara. He is also survived by his three sisters, Annetta Anderson, Joleen Rowberry and Patty Silvers. He was preceded in death by his mother, father, sister, brother and stepmother whom embraced him on the other side of the veil. He will always be remembered and loved throughout eternity. A Funeral service will be held on Saturday, July 24th, at 11:00 a.m., in the Buckley Ward of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, 950 Laredo, in Aurora. A viewing will be held at Horan & McConaty, 3201 South Parker Road, on Friday, from 5:00-7:00 p.m., and at the Church on Saturday, from 10:00-10:45 am, just prior to the services. Interment, St Simeon Cemetery.
