George M. Thomas

(June 26, 1923- Oct 18, 2010) A resident of Saint Andrews Village, Aurora Colorado passed away at Parker Adventist Hospital. He was born in Superior, Wyoming to Greek immigrants and was raised in Rock Springs, Wyoming. George was a long time resident of Laramie, Wyoming. George was a WWII veteran. He earned his Bachelors and Masters Degree from the University of Wyoming. He was a retired microbiologist having had a distinguished career with the United States Department of Agriculture and the University of Wyoming. George was a distinguished bacteriologist who specialized in large animal science. He was a leading expert in Brucellosis research and development. Mr. Thomas is survived by his son Jack and wife Suzanne, Palm Harbor Florida; his daughter Jennifer, and Husband Carl Dean, Centennial Colorado; and son Nick, Lander , Wyoming. Grand children Kelly and Deborah Thomas, Austin Texas; Krista and Tom Barresi, Maui Hawaii; and Austin Dean, Centennial Colorado, and great grand daughter Sunny, Maui Hawaii. He is also survived by his sister Jenny Millet, Las Vegas Nevada; and brother Harry and wife Hope Thomas, Rock Springs, Wyoming; and Sister in Law Dorothy Thomas of Smithfield, Utah. He also leaves behind a large extended and close family including, the Dean Family, The Thomas Family, The Peroulis family, the Leonis Family, and The Faigl Family. George will be remembered by his many dear friends at Saint Andrews Village. His family and friends will miss his handsome smile, his pleasant laugh and generous, giving nature. He was preceded in death by his beautiful and loving wife of 51 years, Juanita Edith Thomas.
