George Williams

November 18, 1933 — November 16, 2015

Born November 18, 1933 in North Denver. Attended Alcott Elementary, Skinner Junior High, and North High School. Enlisted in the United States Navy in 1952 for four years. During this time he served on the USS Sperry AS 12, a submarine tender, the USS Topawa 419, a Tug Boat on Quam; finishing on a destroyer the USS Gregory 802. Marrying Rosalie Kennedy in 1958. He is survived by wife Rosalie, Daughter Esther Williams of Midland MI, son George (Gretchen) Williams Jr. of Crawfordville, FL and seven grandchildren. He was a craftsman who enjoyed working with wood and metal and belonged to the Colorado Carvers Club. He was an active member of Harvey Park Baptist Church, and also a member of: The Rocky Mountain Shipwrights Association. George worked as a paper cutter for 38 years and was active in union affairs in the envelope industry. Family will recieve friends at Horan & McConaty Family Chapel, 3101 S. Wadsworth, on Sunday November 22, at 5 pm. Funeral services for George will take place Monday November 23, at Forefront Church, 2112 S Patton Ct, Denver, CO 80219, at 10 am. Graveside service to follow at Fort Logan National Cemetery at 11:30 am. Reception at Forefront Church following Fort Logan. No Contributions please.
