George G. Winckel

George Winckel, 82, passed away peacefully at his home in Pierce, Colorado on Nov 28. He was preceded in death by his wife Georgia and is survived by his son Timothy Winckel, his daughters Cynthia Dambruch and Katrina Lichtenfels, his brothers Stanley and Daniel Howell and six grandchildren, Jessica, Melissa, Steffani, Natalie, Robert, and Katherine. A resident of Pierce in Weld County for 22 years, George retired from Gates Rubber Company in Denver after a career of 32 years. He served in the US Air Force in the 1950s and was honorably discharged in 1955. He was an avid patron of the High Plains Library district and had a love of gardening. Services will be held on Thursday, November 5, 2013 at 10:00 AM at Horan & McConaty Family Chapel, 3101 S. Wadsworth Blvd., Lakewood, CO with burial to follow at Fort Logan National Cemetery.
