Jerry was born in Chicago in 1929 to Anne and Joe. He was the youngest of 5 brothers.
Although Jerry was a quiet man by nature, there was a great deal of intelligence behind the quiet demeanor. The humor he provided to a situation was dry, occasionally sarcastic, but never mean. He worked as a salesman for Victory Beauty Supply from 1963 to 1995. His customer base was solid and loved him both personally and professionally. Jerry had a talent for talking to people, even when he didn’t say much. Not just anyone can work a sales job for 32 years!
Jerry and Sylvia met in school and were married for nearly 70 years. They have always been the perfect pair of opposites. She is talkative and opinionated. Jerry would often go along with her ideas, while occasionally inserting a quiet satirical comment to bring levity and laughter to the situation. They raised their two children, Michele and Jeff, in the Chicago neighborhood of Skokie. They later moved to a condo in the suburb of Buffalo Grove, where they lived for 20 years.
Even as life changed, their love for each other has remained constant. In 2018, Sylvia and Jerry moved to Colorado to enjoy life in an assisted living home and be closer to Michele and Chuck. Their love continues to flow through their children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren.
In addition to his loving wife Sylvia, Jerry is survived by children Michele and Jeff, son-in-law Chuck, grandchildren Suriah, David, and Matt Bahr, along with wife, Heather, and two great-grandkids Ben and Zach.
Jerry passed away peacefully in Colorado at age 92, on March 13th, 2021 of an infection. Even at the end of his life, his wit and easy smile prevailed over everything else going on around him. A truly beautiful soul will be missed, but we will treasure the memory of his life.
Rest in peace, dear Jerry, you are loved beyond measure.
