Gerald P. Clute

Gerald P. (Jerry) Clute, 90, passed away peacefully with his sons at his side on June 14, 2014. Jerry was born in 1923 to Gerald P. and Ethel Mae Clute in Philadelphia, Pensylvania. Jerry honorably served in the Navy in WWll, graduated with BS in Electrical Engineering from Layette College, Easton, Pennsylvania. He married Janice Campbell in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. He worked for General Electric and rose to general manager of Speed Variator Division. He finished his career with Jetway, Inc. Ogden, Utah as Vice President; traveling the world with his wife negotiating airport projects. He was an active member of HANDS promoting affordable housing and self-reliance. He supported Eccles Art Center, University of Utah Museum of Art and Utah symphony. He was active running the condo association, avid reader, playing the piano, skiing, and golfing. He is survived by his sons: Peter Clute (Denver) and Family; Richard Clute (Chicago) and family; John Clute (Denver) and Family. He was the proud grandfather of seven grandchildren. He was preceded in death by Janice Campbell (married 64 years) and by his son David Campbell Clute. A Memorial Service was held at The Heritage Club, 2200 South Monroe St, Denver, Colorado 80210 (303)756-0025 on Tuesday, June 24, 2014 at 10 a.m. Please share your memories of Jerry and condolences with his family by signing the guestbook.
