Geraldine "Geri" Jones, passed away on December 11th, 2021 after a brief illness. She was 88 years old.
Geri was born in the Chicago-area in 1933. Her parents were Walter and Eugenia Kenick. After graduating from New Trier High School, Geri attended an art school in Chicago. While employed with Rand McNally, Geri met the love of her life, Gerald (Jerry). The “Jerrys”, as they were affectionately known, were married in 1957. Geri was a homemaker and enjoyed raising a son and daughter in Deerfield, Illinois. In 1996, upon retirement, Geri and her husband moved to Colorado to be with their children and grandchildren.
Geri found joy in many things–art, games of any kind (especially card games), decorating, fashion, traveling, reading, flowers and gardening, sipping her Manhattans, and bragging about her family. She was also an incredible cook. The family feasted on many of her delicious holiday and birthday dinners. Geri’s Christmas cookies and homemade Chex mix were the best!
Geri is preceded in death by her dear husband of 63 years, Jerry in 2020. She is survived by her two children, Janet (Andy) and Jeff (Michelle), and their four grandchildren, Kate, Conner, Charlie and Brenna.
A Service will be held on June 3, 2022, 2:30 pm at Fort Logan National Cemetery, Denver, Colorado. A celebration of life reception will be following at Concordia on the Lake in Littleton, Colorado.
Please leave memories and condolences for Geri by signing the tribute wall.
