Geraldine ""Jeri"" Rogers, 82, of Lakewood, Colorado passed away March 13, 2012. Jeri is survived by her husband Harold Rogers, her daughter Debbie (Mike) Edgett; her grandsons Stephen (Angela) Edgett and Aaron Edgett; and seven great grandchildren. Jeri, Mrs. Rogers to so many of her students, taught for 36 years. She started in Spokane, WA where she met and married Harold Rogers. Jeri taught in the Denver school system before having her only child, Debbie. She stayed at home for a few years as Debbie grew but went back to teaching when they moved to Eugene Oregon for four years. After returning to Colorado, Jeri taught in the Jefferson County schools (Bear Creek, Green Gables, Peiffer Elementary schools) for 17 years before retiring in 1989. While back in Colorado, she was extremely active in various organizations; American Association of University Women, Bridge Groups, Eastern Star, Stock Investment Club, CEA/NEA, Ramblin Readers Book Club, Columbine Campers, Gourmet of Colo. Cooking Club, and was Colorado State Teacher of the Year. A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, March 17, 2012 at 2pm at Horan & McConaty Family Chapel located at 3101 South Wadsworth in Lakewood, Colorado.
