Gerard Gurule

Gerard Lee Gurule, 61, of Denver passed away on November 13, 2022 at St. Anthony’s Hospital in Lakewood, Colorado. Gerard was born on May 14, 1961 in Denver, Colorado. He was the son of Delfino and Susana (Trujillo) Gurule. Gerard married the love of his life Sharon (Guzman) on April 16, 1983 and they shared 40 years together.

Gerard worked at Adams County School District 12 for 30 years as a Custodian, Grounds Crew, Transportation and Head Custodian. He also worked some secondary jobs over the years including a position as the “Gas Man” for Colorado National Speedway, Custodian at Northglenn Recreation Center, Security and Ticketing for the National Western Stock Show, Disney on Ice, Ringling Brothers Circus and working various positions at the annual Denver Powwow at the Denver Coliseum.
He enjoyed bow hunting, fishing, stock car races at Colorado National Speedway, playing with his dogs, and fixing things. His two biggest passions were spending time with his family and gambling at Central City.

He will be remembered for his kindness, his goofy smile and laughter, and his love for all animals. Gerard was a very kind and generous soul who would do anything for anyone.

In addition to his wife, Sharon, he is survived by his daughter, Isabella, his siblings Patricia, Jenell and Alfred Gurule as well as many nieces and nephews.

Gerard is preceded in death by his maternal grandparents Julio and Lucy Trujillo, parents Delfino and Susana Gurule, sister Carmen Gurule and brother Ralph Gurule.

A Funeral Service will be held at Horan & McConaty, 9998 Grant Street, Thornton, CO 80229 on Tuesday, November 22, 2022 at 2:00pm, with a visitation starting at 1:00pm. A Celebration of Life reception for Gerard will follow the Funeral Service at the Trail Winds Recreation Center located at 13495 Holly Street, Thornton, CO 80602.
