Gertrud Barbara Jager Premac, 87, passed away peacefully February 21, 2018 in Denver. She was born November 12, 1930 in Mannheim, Germany to H. Cornelius and Barbara Hitter Jager. Gertrud grew up in Germany with one older sister and six younger brothers and sisters. Her formal education was interrupted by World War II, but she completed high school and a trade school. She and George met while he was stationed in Germany serving in the Army. They were married in 1957. Sons Derek and John came along in the next two years. The family moved with military assignments to Seattle, El Paso, back to Germany, and ultimately Colorado Springs, CO. Gertrud began a career of retail department store manager with Duckwallâs, then Alco, and Target from the â60s to 90âs. She became the gift shop manager at Marriott locations in Phoenix and Denver into her 80s. Gertrud was a devout Catholic. She loved swimming, dancing, country and rock nâ roll music, sewing, cooking, and watching her sons and grandchildren compete in athletics. She followed the Broncos and Rockies. Favorite artists include Lawrence Welk, Elvis Presley, Glen Campbell, Johnny Cash, the Gaither Brothers, the Carter Family, and Doris Day in the movies. Gertrud is survived by her beloved husband of 60 years, George Premac; sons, Derek (wife, Denise) Premac, Centennial, CO.; John (wife, Heather) Premac, Coto de Caza, CA.; step-daughter, Twila Treece, Springfield, MO; six grandchildren, Dominique Premac, Conroe, TX; Katie Premac, Codo de Coza, CA.; Mitchell Premac, Aurora, CO; Jeremy Premac, Coto de Caza, CA; Kyle Crawley, Carbondale, CO; Chris Premac, Coto de Caza, CA; Scott Treece, Springfield, MO; great-grandgrandson, Lucas Premac, Coto de Caza, CA.; and siblings, Bernhard Jager, Anna Maria Bendick and Christa Kalker, all of Mannheim, Germany. She was preceded in death by siblings, Paul Jager, Elmar Jager, Roswitha Jager and Elizabeth Jager. A Funeral service will be held at 2:00pm, on Friday, February 23, 2018, at Our Lady of Loreto Parish, 18000 E. Arapahoe Road, Foxfield, CO 80016. The burial will be at 11:00am, Monday 26, 2018 at Fairmount Cemetery, 430 S Quebec St, Denver, CO 80247.
