Gilbert Lopez

Gilbert Joseph Lopez, of Elizabeth, Colorado, passed away on Tuesday, June 22, 2021, from pneumonia at the age of 80. Gilbert was born on October 4, 1940 in New Mexico to Lisandro and Virginia Lopez.

Gilbert will be remembered for his strength and courage, hilarious sense of humor, his positive energy, and the love he shared with many. He was a devoted husband, father and grandfather and had such a kind soul. As a member of the church, he was a firm believer in the power and love of God. He will truly be missed but will live on in all our hearts and memories.

Gilbert is survived by his 3 loving children, Laura Brown (Brett), Gerard Lopez, and Michelle Bunyan (Randy); his 12 grandchildren and 7 great grandchildren. He is also survived by his siblings Geraldine, Gerald, Harold, and Theresa, as well as several nieces, nephews, cousins, and many friends.

Gilbert has entered eternal life with God, his beautiful wife Barbara Lopez; his son Rick Lopez; his dog Saint Patches; his three siblings; as well as his parents Lisandro and Virginia Lopez.

The family will be having a viewing on Friday, July 2 between 12:00-2:00pm at Horan & McConaty – 5303 E County Line Rd, Centennial, Colorado 80122.

A Funeral Mass will be held in Gilbert’s memory on Tuesday, July 13 at 10:30am at St. Frances Cabrini Catholic Church – 6673 W. Chatfield Ave Littleton, CO 80128.
