Glenn Thomas Gilliland, Age 71
April 14th, 1951 ~ May 25th, 2022
Born to the late Thomas Gilliland Jr. and Winifred Hughes in Indianapolis, IN on April 14th, 1951. The eldest of 2 children; he was frequently caught getting into trouble, and then being thwarted by his younger sister Lora. With a father serving in the Air Force, Glenn would find himself moving around frequently in his younger years. He came to live in such places as Indianapolis, Seattle, Cheyenne, Denver, Portsmouth, and Germany all before finally graduating from High School in Japan in 1969. Constantly on the move as a child, it wasn’t until 1978 when he moved to Albuquerque, NM to start a family where he found a place to call home.
In May of 1978, Glenn married the love of his life Peggy Stenzel. Their 44 years of marriage were full of life and adventure; One that consisted of two children, three dogs, and four houses across two states. In 44 years of marriage they explored the world together, while successfully raising their two children, Kyle and Shannon.
Glenn spent years as a salesman selling everything from chocolates, tvs printers, and computers before opening his own computer sales and repair shop. He graduated with a Bachelor's degree in business and was a lifetime learner often digging into how technology worked.
As Glenn aged he matured like a 25yr old scotch and just got better with age. After retiring, he could often be found playing golf, practicing at the range, or searching for the perfect travel destination with a golf course!
He is survived by his wife Peggy Gilliland (Aurora, CO), sister Lora Linderholm (Albuquerque, NM), son Kyle Gilliland (Erie, CO), daughter Shannon Schmelter (Highlands Ranch, CO), granddaughter Kira Gilliland, grandson Logan Gilliland, and grandson Patrick Schmelter.
