Glenn Leslie Givens was born July 27, 1938 in Freewater, Oregon, to his late parents Raymond S Givens and Ruth E Rand and passed away March 13, 2025 in Lakewood, Colorado.
Glenn spent his younger years growing up in Susanville, CA where he worked at his family’s auto dismantling company as a young boy. He joined the Navy in September, 1955 where he predominantly was stationed on Adak Island, Alaska. He boasted great joy in telling stories of operating heavy equipment there. He was honorably discharged in September, 1961. After the military, Glenn kept pursuing his love for cars and developed a career in the auto industry with GM brand of cars owning his own gas/service station, working as a service advisor and service manager at various car dealerships in the Denver area. Over the course of his career, he received many accolades for his dedication of service from GM. Upon retirement, he continued to work part time at the local Cadillac dealership as a shuttle driver, vacation in Puerto Vallarta and would compete in bike races in the Rocky Mountains.
Glenn is survived by his children: Brian Givens (Kristy), Bruce Givens (Sandra) and Chandra Coyne (David); sister Irene Riedel. Step-daughters Michelle Myers (Mark) and Jennifer Barnes. Glenn’s pride and joy were his Grandchildren: Bryce Givens, Bailee Givens, Hanna Coyne, Jacob Coyne, Heather Sheets, Amanda Pontillo, Sienna Serena, and Shelbie Myers. And 16 Great Grandchildren.
Preceeded in death are his wife, Barbara Givens. Siblings Leroy Givens and Donna Rae Hess.
A celebration of life will be planned at a later date.
