He was preceded in death by his parents, his two sisters (Roberta McKelva and Shirley Rhoades), and two brothers (Dean and Marvin Joy). When Keith was a young child, his family moved from Ruskin, Nebraska to Loveland, Colorado. He attended schools in Loveland, and graduated from Loveland High School in 1949. After graduation Keith enlisted in the Colorado National Guard. He served for the National Guard at the Loveland Armory until 1959. Keith was later transferred to Denver, and served in various positions until his retirement in 1991 as a Contracting Officer, CWO-4. He met his wife Geri in 1953 at the roller skating rink in Longmont. They were married on August 8th, 1954, and have been inseparable for 63 years. They lived at the Loveland Armory for four years before moving to Denver, where they have resided in the same home for 58 years. Keith and his wife, Geri, enjoyed square dancing, round dancing, and ballroom dancing for many years. They spent a great deal of time at their cabin, playfully named âBit of Joy.â They enjoyed camping at Yellowstone, Glacier, and Canadian National Parks. Their most recent camping trips were at Mueller State Park in Colorado. They vacationed for many years in a tent (many bear stories were experienced) and pop-up trailer, before graduating to a self-contained travel trailer. After retirement, Keith and Geriâs love of crafting provided many years of enjoyment. Keith would do the wood work, and Geri would do the painting. Keith also excelled at counted cross stitching and created over 40 framed pieces of art. Keith is survived by his wife, two sisters-in-law, many nieces and nephews, and great nieces and nephews.
