Glenna Louise Austin, age 79, of Parker, Colorado, passed away at her home August 1, 2016 following a long battle with Parkinson's disease. Glenna endured to the end valiant in her testimony of Jesus Christ. She enjoyed reading her scriptures and was particularly proud of finishing a church project. Her favorite activity was to spend time with her children and grandchildren! Glenna set a great example of hard work and the value of education. She returned to school later in life and earned a Master's degree in Social Work. Glenna loved to serve her Heavenly Father by serving His children. She participated in many church, volunteer, and service organizations throughout her life. Glenna was born in Stonington, Maine on September 18, 1936. She was baptized into The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints at the age of 10 and remained faithful to the Gospel she loved ever since. She was married for time and all eternity to Lawrence Austin in the LDS Salt Lake Temple May 08, 1958. She is preceded in death by her loving husband Dr. Lawrence Edwin Austin; her parents, Laura and Arthur Ogilvie; brother Douglas Ogilvie; and sisters Grace Smith and Carol Buck. Glenna is survived by her four children: Larry Jr. (Jodi) and five children - Colby, Tara, Makenna (Rob), Tanner and Rylee; Kerry (Roseann) and their two children â Jessica and Andrea; Steven (Tanya) and their four children â Kaitlyn, Lindsey, Mark and Miguel; and Jennifer, who tirelessly and lovingly nursed Glenna while her health was declining. She is also survived by eight great-grandchildren Madelyn, Kennedy, Zachary, Andrew, Tatum, Marcus, Ali and Jake. A viewing will be held at The Horan & McConaty Family Chapel, 5303 E. County Line Rd., Centennial, CO 80122 on Thursday August 4, from 6:00 â 8:00 PM. The funeral service will be held at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, 20850 E. Main Street, Parker, CO 80138 on Friday August 5, at 10:00 AM. A viewing will be held at the church from 8:30 â 9:30 AM. Burial will be in the Chapel Hill Cemetery immediately following the service. ""And they never did look upon death with any degree of terror, for their hope and views of Christ and the resurrection; therefore, death was swallowed up to them by the victory of Christ over it.""
