Gloria Ann Bergeron entered into eternal rest on Easter Sunday, April 4, 2021 at the age of 65 in Denver, Colorado. On September 10, 1955 in Port Barre, Louisiana, Gloria was born and raised.
At the age of 18, she joined the U. S. Army and was last deployed to Seoul, South Korea. After 10 years of active service with the U. S. Army, Gloria continued to serve her country while working with the Denver Veteran’s Affairs Medical Center as an Oncology Secretary. Colorado became her home away from home; although Gloria relocated, her Cajun roots ran deep-especially when it came to her cooking- Boudin, Maque Choux and Gumbo-were some of her favorites, to wash down her food she always enjoyed an iced cold Orange Fanta, (so much that she should have been named an honorary spokesperson).
Gloria built her life on spending quality time with her family, sewing and listening to music (especially Aaron Neville). She had a big heart and was always willing to assist her family and loved ones in their time of need. She will be greatly missed by her family, friends and all who knew and loved her.
She is survived by her children Maiysha Pollins and Antoine Smith; her former spouse Reginald Smith; her grandchildren Nadia, Zoey and Reigner Smith who all reside in Colorado; her grandson Pierre Smith who resides in Louisiana; her great grandchildren; her sisters Eva Rose B. Taylor, Geraldine B. Taylor, Linda Sue B Nicholas, Rita Murely B. Oliver and Darlene B. Hudson; her brothers Wilton Bergeron, Francis Bergeron, Donald Bergeron, Harry Bergeron, Frank Lee Bergeron, Wayne Bergeron, Albert Ray Bergeron and Yves Bergeron Jr in addition to her nieces, nephews and extended family members.
We also honor her daughter Shannon Marie Parker.
Gloria is preceded in death by her mother Clemmie Guidroz Bergeron; her father Yves Bergeron Sr.; her sister Brenda Faye Bergeron; her brothers Antoine Bergeron and Ronald James Bergeron; her nieces Michelle Moreau Thomas, Monica Bergeron and Donna Faye Bergeron; her nephews Phillip Bergeron, Joseph Bergeron, Brian Taylor, Herbert Hagan Bergeron and Johnny James Moreau Jr.
