Gregg Foley

June 21, 1967 — January 7, 2014

Beloved father and husband, Gregg Foley, 46, died January 7 at Swedish Southwest Emergency Room from cardiac arrest. A lifelong Coloradoan, he was born in Denver on June 21, 1967 and graduated from Lakewood High School in 1985. He married Kimberly Anne Abbott on May 25, 1991 at the Lookout Mountain Nature Center and the couple settled in Littleton to raise their sons Josh, 19, and Jake, 16. Gregg enjoyed Colorado's beauty as a skier, hiker and photographer. An avid gardener, he knew when and what to plant to make the most of Colorado's growing season and how to protect his garden from Colorado's sometimes-trying weather conditions, like last year's sudden hail storm. In memory of his mother, he carried on her love of local birdlife by putting bird feeders in his yard and he soon found his own affection for and interest in them. He worked as a Creative for Apple Inc., tapping into his almost 30-year passion for Apple computers. His wife lovingly called him an evangelist for Apple due to his habit of wanting to convert computer skeptics. Gregg actively supported his sons' pursuits, from soccer to music, and happily opened his home to their friends. He was the kind of neighbor who knew his neighbors, and who exchanged gardening wisdom and lent a hand when there was a need. He found his life mate and best friend in Kim, and the pair enjoyed a marriage that thrived and grew stronger over time and through every challenge. He is survived by his wife, Kim, sons Josh and Jake, father James Foley Jr., siblings Janette Foley, Kristene Weber, Patrick Foley and Kevin Foley, and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his mother Arlene Faith Foley, who died in 2005. His memorial will be held Monday, January 13 at 1:00PM at Horan & McConaty at 3101 S. Wadsworth Blvd., Lakewood. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Gregg Foley Memorial Fund for the benefit of his childrenat any 1st Bank location .
