Kevin Conwick passed away in Denver April 7, 2024 at the age of 89. He was born in Gowanda, NY to school teachers Theodore and Hazel Conwicke. After high school in Endicott, NY Kevin attended Colgate University where he played varsity football and lacrosse and earned a Phi Beta Kappa key.
In 1957 he joined the Marine Corps and with flight training in Pensacola, Florida he became a naval aviator with “wings of gold.” He was stationed at the 2nd Marine Air Wing in New River, Jacksonville NC. He served 4 years on active duty and in 1961 entered Harvard Law School. While in law school Kevin kept up his pilot training in the Marine Corps Reserves Training Command flying at NAS South Weymouth on weekends and whenever his class schedule permitted. Summers were spent flying on the Mid-Canada Line stationed at a Royal Canadian Air Force base in Winisk, Ontario. This involved a commercial pilot’s license exam in Montreal which he took after finishing his first year law school exams.
The law firm, Holme, Roberts and Owen interviewed at Harvard and offered Kevin a job. He flew to Denver and the partners meeting his plane took him straight to a Bronco game. He accepted the job offer and practiced law with the firm until retirement.
He is survived by his wife of 66 years, Virginia (Ginny) and daughters, Kimberly (Dave) Andresky and Brooke (Gary) Palumbo, grandsons Isaac (Molly) Andresky and Rory Andresky, his brother, Joel Conwicke of Pinehurst NC.
