Gregory L. Thurber (75) passed away peacefully on November 20, 2023, at home with his family in Centennial, Colorado. He was born on August 18, 1948, in Ogden, Utah. Greg displayed artistic talents from a young age that led to a lifelong career in art and design.
As a young man, Greg ran track on a scholarship at Ricks College, following which he served as a missionary for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in the Eastern States mission. Greg graduated from BYU where he studied fine arts.
Greg had a lifelong love of nature, finding joy in hiking, fishing, and biking. He was a gifted photographer who appreciated the beauty of God’s creations. Greg was known by friends and family as a quiet man, but a deep thinker who liked to ponder the spiritual meanings of life. He will be remembered as a man who was always honest and sincere with others. Later in life he enjoyed traveling with his wife, Frances, and serving as a temple worker in the Denver Colorado Temple.
Greg was preceded in death by his brother Dennis, sister Laura (Butters), and daughter Trisha.
He is survived by his beloved wife, Frances; his children Holly (Tyler Jones), Emily (Justin Call), and Ryan; as well as his cherished sisters, Lynette (Chandler) and Linda (Cumming).
A memorial service will be held at 12 Noon on Thursday, November 30, 2023, at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, 4701 South Chambers Road, Aurora, Colorado 80015. Interment at the Littleton Cemetery.
