Griselda C. Mejias, age 96, passed away peacefully in the Little Sisters of the Poor Mullen Home for the Aged in Denver Colorado on August 3, 2022. She was born March 15, 1926 in Mayaguez, Puerto Rico to Francisco Castillo and Maria Torres. Griselda married Rafael Mejias Diaz, December 31, 1950 who preceded her in death on June 4, 2001.
Griselda was a loving wife, dedicated mother, grandmother, great grandmother and sister. She was preceded in death by her husband Rafael Mejias Diaz; her siblings Estelia Castillo, Freddy Castillo and Hector Castillo; and her granddaughter Crisie Suzette Mejias.
While residing in Marion Oaks, Ocala, Florida, Griselda was actively involved in the St. Jude Catholic Parish as Sacristan and Extraordinary Minister of Holy Communion until her retirement to Colorado.
Griselda is survived by her sons Rafael F. Mejias and daughter-in-law Mary Irene Glaser; Cesar E. Mejias and daughter-in-law Sylvette A. Mulero-Mejias; grandchildren Rafael F. (Ralph) Mejias, Jr., Cristina Sanders (Michael Sanders), Marco A. Mejias (Pamela Stover), Jose M. Mejias, Tisha A. Mejias-Dominguez (Tommy Dominguez), Rina E. Mejias-Rosada (Miguel A. Rosada); great grandchildren Nolan James Mejias, Mason Ryan Mejias, Keegan Stover Mejias, Adam Sanders, Alessandro Jose Mejias, Liliana Marie Mejias, Brodie Stover Mejias, Glenn Sanders, Dominic J. Dominguez, Crisie S. Dominguez, Joaquin E. Rosada, Suzette E. Rosada.
Visitation and Rosary will take place at Horan & McConaty Funeral Home, Centennial, Colorado on Monday, September 5, 2022 at 6:00 P.M.
Funeral Mass will take place at St. Thomas More Catholic Church, Centennial, Colorado on Tuesday, September 6, 2022 at 11:00 A.M.
Burial Service will take place at Fort Logan National Cemetery, Denver, Colorado on September 6, 2022 at 1:00 P.M.
