Gus Gravina passed away peacefully in his home on Thursday, February 19th. Gus was born in Denver, June 20, 1922 to Gaetano Gravina and Filomena (DiBartelomeo) Gravina. He was a lifelong resident of Denver and a 1940 graduate of North High School. Gus served in the U.S. Navy from August of 1942 to October of 1945, and went on to co-own Stephenson Logging & Construction with father-in-law, Guy Stephenson in the late 40's and 50's. Their company was responsible for much of the early development of downtown Denver. He is survived by his beloved wife of 60 years, Winifred (Stephenson) Gravina; children, Diana Bomar, Gary Gravina, Janet McFarlane, Linda Gravina, Laura Gravina; and nephew, Richard Gravina, whom he raised with his wife. Survivors also include grandsons, Gary Bomar & Jesse Gravina; granddaughters, Courtney & Kyle McFarlane, Tiffany Jensen and her husband Ryan; great-grandchildren, Rhett & Austin Jensen. He is also survived by brother, Anthony Gravina, son-in-law, Scott McFarlane; plus numerous nieces, nephews and countless loved ones. Preceded in death by brothers, Fred, Jerry, James, John and sisters, Mary Atler, Angelina DeBell & Emma Grano. His family was his life, his wife his true love.
