Gustav W. ""Gus"" Anderson Beloved father, died on August 30th. Born in Denver on January 20, 1926, Gus was a lifelong Coloradan. He graduated from East High School in 1943 and the University of Colorado, Boulder, in 1947 (Electrical Engineering), where he was a member of the Sigma Chi fraternity. He owned and operated the family business, Silver State Cleaners and Laundry, until his retirement in 1990. He served as president of the Denver Athletic Club in 1973, chairman of the Better Business Bureau from 1980 to 1981, and board chairman of Goodwill Industries from 1985 to 1987. He was an avid fisherman, gardener, and ski patrol member for many years. He also represented Colorado in the Senior Olympics in badminton, winning the bronze medal in 1993 and the silver medal in 1995. He was preceded in death by his youngest son, Matthew, and his wife of 47 years, Bette. He is survived by four children, Shae Isaacs of Denver; Mark Anderson (Suzanne Egan) of Amesbury, MA; Lisa Anderson (Todd Neary) of Olympia, WA; Eric Anderson (Felicia) of Bend, OR; one sister, Bryn de Veciana of Virginia Beach, VA; and six grandchildren. Funeral services will be held Friday, September 6th at 2:00 p.m. at Church of the Risen Christ, 3060 S. Monaco Parkway, Denver, CO.
