Guy Maurice Barrow

Guy M. Barrow , age 90, passed away on Thursday, October 11, 2018 at WARMC in Bullhead City, Arizona after failing health.

Guy was born in Morgantown, Kentucky, and grew up in Detroit, Michigan. At age 16 he moved to Boulder, Colorado, and attended the University of Colorado. Guy served in the Army Air Corp and received an honorable discharge. He began a 35-year career with Texaco at Rangely, Colorado. Later he transferred to the Denver office, where he served in various positions, ultimately retiring in 1986 as a Landman. There he met and married Helen Prohaska, also an employee of Texaco. They had one son, John, who graduated from Colorado School of Mines and who died of esophageal cancer at age 36. Guy’s wife, Helen, passed away in 1993.

In October of 1994, Guy married Sally O’Connor, also a Texaco employee. They resided in Riverview Resort in Bullhead City, Arizona, where they enjoyed many activities, some world travel, golf, and Guy achieved the coveted “Hole-in-One”.

Guy is survived by his wife, Sally; four grandchildren, Adam, April, John Phillip, and Jordan, all of Dallas, Texas; and thirteen great-grandchildren.

Visitation will be held from 2:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. on Monday, October 22, 2018 at the Horan and McConaty Funeral Home, 3101 S. Wadsworth Blvd., Lakewood, Colorado. Church services will be at 10:00 a.m. on Tuesday, October 23, 2018 at Atonement Lutheran Church, 6281 W. Yale Ave, Denver, Colorado followed by burial at Fort Logan National Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to Atonement Lutheran Church, American Heart Association, or American Cancer Society.
