H. Clayton Peterson passed away after an amazing life at the age of 76 on June 29th, 2022.
He grew up in Mankato Kansas, a small community of 1000 people. He excelled in school, basketball, and baseball. He went on to graduate from Kansas State University with Honors. He served in the Vietnam war receiving a bronze star, though like many, chose not to discuss it much.
He spent his entire career at Arthur Andersen, becoming managing partner of the Denver office. He loved every minute of it.
Clayton is survived by his son, Drew Peterson, daughter, Carrie Hofmann, and granddaughter, Brooke, along with daughter-in-law, Tami, and son-in-law, Rob.
He often talked about how proud his parents would have been; a boy from small-town Mankato KS who reached all his goals and then some.
He loved K-State, his fraternity Delta Upsilon, Chardonnay, and football. He also loved reading in the sun in both Scottsdale and Cabo.
His memory amazed us, he could always recall someone’s name, school, and back story, as well as every fraternity song. His love for K-State meant constant harassment for his cousin, Connie, and her kids who attended KU.
He shared stories about his granddaughter, Brooke, and grand-puppy Zoey to anyone who would listen. He cherished their visits.
He was very generous to many, including buying equipment for the football team of Mankato, and helping renovate the DU house at K-State.
He has an incredible group of friends and they still connected until the end.
In his final weeks, we heard countless stories we will treasure. We know he was loved by many and will be terribly missed.
In lieu of flowers, please donate to Delta Upsilon Education Fund, memo: K-State, Clayton Peterson Scholarship, https://give.communityfunded.com/o/delta-upsilon-educational-foundation/i/home/s/annual-loyalty-fund
