Hank Gutersohn

June 15, 1930 — November 8, 2010

Henry F. ""Hank"" Gutersohn died on Monday, Nov. 8th at the age of 80 in Buckhorn New Mexico where he had been a resident for the past 10 years. Prior to living in NM, he had resided in Denver and Blackhawk Colorado for many years. Hank passed away peacefully, at his home after succumbing to cancer and heart trouble. His parents Julius and Sophie (Winehart) Gutersohn moved to the United States from Fraunfeld, Switzerland. Hank was born in Manhattan, New York in 1930, he spent his youth in Long Island NY where he was senior class president and a star football player. Hank graduated from CSU with a business degree in 1958 and served as SAE fraternity president. Hank sold typewriters for Underwood, then as a copier salesman for Xerox. He then started his own real estate brokerage named Swiss Realty in the early 70's and created many partnerships and syndications through the years, everyone of them profitable to some extent. He was an inventor and an explorer at heart. He was proud to be an American and served his country in Korea, he appreciated every day fully, the freedoms offered by our country. His life philosophies included Integrity, The Golden Rule and his favorite one-liner: ""listening is an art!"" His sense of humor was present until his final hours, he could always find a bright side. Hank had many friends in Colorado & New Mexico and will be missed by all. He is survived by his sons Lance and Chad, his daughters Robin McIntire and Becky Adams, and grandchildren Dustin, Dylan, Hunter and Trinity.
