Hans Eric Yeager

February 22, 1963 — April 1, 2007

Hans Eric Yeager, 44, passed away April 1, 2007, in Denver, Colorado, following a 2 1/2 year fight with cancer. He was born in 1963 in Columbus, Ohio, a son of Robert Bruce and Jeanine Adele Nellis Yeager. Hans and his family moved to Belbrook, OH when he was a boy. He received his education through the Sugarcreek school system, graduating in 1980 from Bellbrook High School. Hans attended Ohio State University, graduating with a BS in Mechanical Engineering in 1984 and then continued on, receiving his MBA in 1986. Following graduation, Hans and several close friends moved to Los Angeles, California. He worked for NCR in sales and during his time in LA, made many more lifelong friends. Hans lived in LA until 1994, when he made the move to Austin, Texas with the intent to find a wife, to settle down and start a family. He continued to work in sales, and in December of 1994, Hans was introduced to Bethany Parr by her Aunt whom he worked with at Informix. After dating for 1 1/2 years, Hans and Bethany were married on May 18, 1996 in Austin, Texas. In October 1998, Hans relocated to Evergreen, Colorado to work for a good friend at Narex, heading the sales division. Bethany joined Hans in December and in March of 1999, their daughter, Emily was born. Hans worked for a brief time at Informatica and then started his own consulting company, YB Advisors in 2002. Hans enjoyed his work and continued working during his cancer treatments up until three days before his passing. Besides his wife and daughter, Hans had another love, his 1966 Chevy Malibu, "Michelle", that he restored. He also loved racing motocross and won many awards in the Novice class. He enjoyed playing foosball and chess, hiking, camping, and mountain bike riding at Elk Meadow. His love of the outdoors was shared with his family, creating memories that will long be remembered. Hans cared a great deal about the environment and politics. So much so, that while living in California, he even ran in the primary elections for the United States House of Representatives. Hans' final love was riding his motorcycles. When he was 18, he traveled across the United States on his motorcycle. This began a life-long exploration of the United States, mostly by motorcycle, which took Hans to all 50 states of the United States and several provinces of Canada. He especially enjoyed his exploration of the California deserts and the Colorado Mountains. Hans loved a good debate with any intelligent and willing friend. His relationships were important to him and his family and many friends will miss him. Hans is survived by his wife, Bethany Parr Yeager and their daughter, Emily Evelyn Yeager, of Evergreen, CO; parents, Jeanine and Robert Yeager, of Spring Valley, OH; sister, Kristen Yeager, of Maui, Hawaii; brother, Kurt Yeager, of Dayton, Ohio; and many other extended family members and close friends. A Funeral Mass will be held on Wednesday, April 4, 2007, 10:00 a.m., at Christ the King Catholic Church, 4291 Evergreen Parkway, in Evergreen. His ashes will be buried at the Evergreen Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to The Emily Yeager College Fund, 1st Bank of Evergreen, 30770 Stagecoach Blvd. Evergreen, CO 80439-7920; or the Multiple Myeloma Research Foundation, www.mulitplemyeloma.org or 383 Main Avenue 5th Floor, Norwalk, CT 06851.
