Harold will be laid to rest on July 2, 2013 at Fairmount Cemetery, 430 S. Quebec Street, Denver, CO 80247. Harold was born on January 2, 1955 in Silver City, New Mexico, the third son of Fredrick Parley Jones and Mary Moore Jones. He is survived by his wife, Sharon Kay Jones; his children, Megan Anderson (Eric), Christian Jones (Emily), Darren Jones (Ashlee), Preston Jones, Kaylene Jones, and Rebecca Jones; and his siblings, Wendell Jones, Larry Jones, Clifford Jones, LeeAnn Whetten, Louise Jones, Nanette Clarke, Leonard Jones, and Robert Jones; and his mother, Mary Jones. He is also survived by nine grandchildren. Throughout his youth, Harold was known for his fun personality and for being a natural leader. He participated in football, track, and basketball. He was very competitive. Harold was active in BSA and earned his Eagle Scout award. Later he served a two year church mission to Sao Paulo, Brazil. In 1979 he graduated from BYU with a degree in Accounting and became a CPA. Harold met Sharon Kay Reed while they were students at BYU. They were married in the Salt Lake Temple on August 5, 1977. They have raised six children. Their children have also served missions for the Church and all three sons are Eagle Scouts. Harold began working at Coughlin & Company, Inc. in Denver in 1981. Throughout the years, Harold's role expanded and he became Vice President in 1988. As the company evolved, Harold assisted the firm in navigating new business pursuits, including private equity, real estate development, property management, and insurance. Harold was a trusted advisor, visionary, and dedicated employee who helped Coughlin & Company remain successful over the past three decades. Harold was an outstanding leader, and a kind and compassionate man who always treated people with fairness, respect, and integrity while contributing to the financial success of the company. Always an active member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, Harold served as a Scoutmaster, Young Men Adviser, High Counselor, Bishop, Counselor in a Stake Presidency, Seminary Teacher, and Temple Worker. In all of these callings, Harold found a way to touch individual lives. Harold loved to have fun. He was an avid racquetball player. He was never one to ""throw a game"", but he would play left handed if he thought it would make things more interesting. Harold also enjoyed woodworking and fixing things around the house. He was known as a problem solver. Whether in business, church, or family life, Harold had a way of finding creative solutions. Harold's greatest legacy is one of service, of faith, and of love. It has been almost 36 years since Harold and Sharon were married in the temple, forming an eternal family. Along with their children, this family has grown to include spouses and nine grandchildren. Harold's death brings a sorrowful separation, but the family remains intact. His family knows that they are sealed together by the authority of God and that, by His grace, as they do His will, there will be a sweet and certain reunion.
